Our Story
1975 - 1992
In 1975, Harry and Sharon Rhyno started an appliances and refrigeration business, working out of their home in Riverport, Nova Scotia (the white house on the far right in photo above). For the next decade, they expanded the business to concentrate on heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration. In 1985, they relocated to Bridgewater to a larger commercial space on North Street.
1993 - 2019
Jayme Rhyno was just 13 when he started working with his father on weekends and during the summer. After graduating from high school in 1998, he joined the technical side of the business and began studying for his refrigeration license. In 2006, Jayme obtained his Inter-Provincial Journeyman License with a Red Seal. In 2010, Jayme took over the business so his father could retire. The company continued to grow and by 2015, we moved across the street to a larger building that allowed for a office space and a shop. In 2016, the company celebrated 40 years in business.
2020 - 2024
In April 2020, Rhyno’s and Langille’s Plumbing & Heating merged to become one larger company. Two long-established local companies joined together to provide a wider range of services. In 2022, we celebrated a successful two-year merger and Paul Langille was able to retire. We have since added an electrical division to our team, to continually provide better service for homeowners and businesses in Nova Scotia.

2025
In 2025, we celebrated 50 years in business. Quite a milestone. The year was not without it's challenges though, and on
November 10th, Harold E. Rhyno (Harry) passed away at the age of 82. Harry found great purpose in giving back to the community. He was truly fulfilled when volunteering for many organizations throughout his life like Scouting Canada, The Salvation Army, Canadian Red Cross, and his local church to name a few.

His family was at the heart of everything he did. He will be remembered for his resiliency, strength, commitment to life-long learning, and dedication to working hard. He was always ready with a joke and a mischievous smile.

2026
On March 2, the plumbing department is successfully sold to Culligan, allowing Rhyno's to focus on their HVAC and Electrical divisions. The Rhyno's plumbing team continues to deliver the same high level of workmanship and customer care as part of Culligan, with the two companies working on joint projects and continuing a strong partnership moving forward.
